The MT5 is a full-on gravity brake, with many proprietary features of the competition spec MT8, but comprised more of high-grade alloy than Carbon, to help with the cost of production, which means they can find their way onto your bike without a lightweight wallet! 8-piston total on a complete setup, these things will stop you on a dime. Best suited to downhill, they will brake sharp, so cycling performance may be inhibited or likewise the brakes may not be used to their full potential if applied to light-duty cycling, i.e. cross country.
